1. Who we are

bestplace.lk (“we”, “us”) operates a directory of villas, rooms and small stays in Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it.

2. Information we collect

Account data: email address, display name and avatar (when you sign up with email or Google).
Listing data (owners): property details, address, phone, WhatsApp, email, photos and social links you choose to publish.
Usage data: pages viewed, listings opened, contact clicks. We use this to show trending stays and improve the site.

3. How we use your information

To display your listing publicly (owners only) and let travellers contact you.
To operate account features (favourites, reviews, moderation).
To detect abuse and enforce our Terms.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Listing contact details are visible to any site visitor by design — that is the purpose of a directory. Owners can remove their listing at any time from the “My listings” page.

5. Third-party services

We use Google (for sign-in and Maps), Meta (Instagram/Facebook embeds you choose to display), and Lovable Cloud (Supabase) for hosting, database and file storage. Their privacy policies apply to data processed by them.

6. Data retention

Listing data is kept as long as the listing is published. If you delete your account or a listing, its photos and content are removed within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data at any time by editing your profile or contacting us. To request account deletion, email hello@bestplace.lk.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and site preferences. We may add analytics cookies in the future; if we do, we will update this notice.
